There are known side effects to both Minoxidil and Valproic Acid in a small percentage of users. Side effects are rarely severe. Essentially the side effects are in direct ratio to the volume you consume. The serum contains a low concentration of Valproic acid and as a result side effects are rare (none reported so far) and include things like a headache and feelings of dehydration.

The key thing to remember with this serum and any other hair growth topical is to use it extremely sparingly. The reason for this is that the serum only works in the scalp skin. If you apply too much, more of the serum will absorb through the skin and into the bloodstream, where it has no effect on hair growth. Therefore it is sensible to apply the smallest amount possible, where it will have maximum efficiency of effect and the lowest possibility of side effects due to minimal absorption into the bloodstream. You will only experience side effects if too much of the serum is absorbed into the bloodstream and even then it is rare. However, I still recommend caution. If you start to feel a headache or other feelings associated with dehydration, stop using the serum, drink lots of water and only recontinue at least 24 hours after you feel completely fine again.

This is sensible advice for anything you apply to your skin, whether it’s peppermint oil, Minoxidil or anything else.
